(SWS)-The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety uses "tricks" and "games" in managing its finances, City Controller Laura Chick said recently.
This is not unique to the Building and Safety Department," she added. "There are many departments that look to get around some of the rules to hold on to money that they haven't spent.
"There are a lot of financial issues we're still reviewing at this point, but we can't speak to anything specific at this time," [David Keim] said. "We are committed to working with the controller to further improve the department."
