PIQUA -- City administrators said the city budget projects a pool subsidy of around $108,000 this year. Miami County Commissioners Bill Vogt and Joe Wilson said they thought a more realistic number would be $60,000 to $80,000. The staff recommended closing the pool this summer because of maintenance needs including repair or replacement of the circulation pump and overall tight city finances, and reopening in 2011 if finances improve.
