The Rev. Phebe McPherson calls it a "Whoville" moment.
On a cold Christmas Eve nine years ago, members of Epiphany Chapel and Church House in Odenton gathered in a circle in the gutted interior of the sanctuary and welcomed in the holy day.

Phyllis Phelps of La Verne and her daughters - Amanda, 22; Emily, 16, and Jenna, 12 - sat quietly listening to people promoting peace and nodded their heads in affirmation. Their eyes collectively closed on occasion as they became entwined in the circle of love encompassing people of many faiths sitting in the sanctuary of Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in San Dimas on Sept. 11.

On a recent morning, the vividly colored Tiffany windows in First Presbyterian Church's sanctuary, at Symphony Circle, glowed brightly.
Outside the church, the 168-foot-tall Medina sandstone tower, crowned with a blue-green patina, showed the wear and tear of its age. The tower was built in 1897, but it has never been repointed. The roof and other parts of the building are also in need of repair.

He has been involved with the community since its inception and, because Faerie Camp Destiny has no appointed leader, Endora serves as the organization's de facto spokesperson. On Memorial Day, Patrick Stewart's granite marker - engraved with a pentacle, a five-pointed star enclosed in a circle - will be consecrated at Circle Sanctuary, about 25 miles west of Madison.
