VIRGINIA BEACH - Christopher Dominic Blanchard, 30, lost his life Monday afternoon in a single car accident in Southeastern Louisiana. He is survived by his son, the love of his life, Jon Curtis Blanchard; his fiancee, Cristi Adams and the mother of his young son Shawnna Blanchard; his mother, Cynthia Murawski and stepfather Thomas Szalkai, his father and stepmother, Jean and Sarah Blanchard; siblings, Amber Blanchard-Mandel and Virginia and Joshua Blanchard; his grandmothers, Joyce Curtis and Annette Gamble; and nieces and nephew, Jenna Webb and Braydon Mandel. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jon Curtis, Gordon Gamble and Sidney Blanchard.

• Bangor Man Accused in Assault On Girlfriend

Bangor police were called to an apartment on Moosehead Boulevard in Capehart after an argument at a residence there boiled over and led to three separate charges against a Bangor man on Tuesday. After arriving at the scene around 5 p.m., Officer Christopher Blanchard learned that an argument between a woman and her live-in boyfriend, Joshua McGilvray, 25, allegedly resulted in an assault on the woman.

• Motorist, 94, Charged After Fleeing Police

A 94-year-old Bangor man stopped by police Monday morning for having an expired registration put his car in drive and left the scene while the investigating officer returned to his cruiser to process paperwork. Officer Christopher Blanchard stopped Kern Foss, 94, at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Union Street in Bangor. The officer asked Foss to present his license and registration. Foss told the officer that "they" had taken his paperwork.

• Lawsuit: Massey Employees Ignored Seven Injured Miners

The wife of a miner killed in an April 2010 blast inside Massey Energy Co.'s Upper Big Branch mine contends that several men on their way out initially survived but died after two company employees, who spent hours underground after the blast, walked past them without rendering aid, according to a Boone County, W.Va., lawsuit filed against Massey and the two employees.
