They're dreaming of a retro Christmas. Shoppers of a certain age who wander through holiday displays at vintage and antique shops nearly always say the same thing. "Awww. I remember those. My mom/ grandmother had one.
The shelves and displays are full of decorations of Christmases past. Holiday decor from the 1950s and '60s particularly appeals to Baby Boomers who grew up during the era of tinsel icicles and futuristic aluminum Christmas trees and color wheels.

I dropped my granddaughter off at school on Dec. 14 and was shocked, dismayed and offended to see absolutely no Christmas decorations. I understand the "need" to be "tolerant" but feel we have taken it too far.

My daughter introduced me to Pinterest, a website that allows members to "pin" favorite websites/photos/blogs to different bulletin boards. You can follow different "pinners" and they can follow you.
As far as I can tell, it's used a lot by teens who are looking for inspirational and/or funny quotable thoughts, young women dreaming of lavish weddings, middle-aged women looking for simply decadent recipes (or anything that goes into a slow cooker), and crafters of all ages.

A Route 2 homeowner in East Dixfield called Wilton police Monday to report the theft of a projector from outside the residence, police Chief Dennis Brown said. The projector, valued at $65, was used to put up Christmas scenes on the side of the home, he said.
