Christine Barfield Price, 74, of Colonial Heights, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at her residence.
She was a native of Cobbtown, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Annie Sikes Dowd. She was the widow of her first husband, Wilfred Lee Barfield Jr., and a retired switchboard operator for the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike. Mrs. Price was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Young at Hearts Club at Elm Street Baptist Church in Petersburg.

OAKWOOD -- When Christine Price, owner of La De Da Le Salon in Oakwood, set her sights on expansion, she envisioned creating a sanctuary for clients where they could meditate, practice yoga or Pilates and learn about nutrition. She was already offering hair, nail, skin and makeup services, but she was longing to create a holistic center where beauty and wellness could merge.
Price also wanted to retain the small boutique feel she already had in her salon, so she rented a separate upstairs space in the building where her salon was located, creating a wellness center and adding another room for an aesthetian.
