A judge has ruled that the Long Beach Harbor Commission illegally violated state environmental law when it weakened its truck cleanup program without first performing the required environmental review, according to a statement from the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The NRDC said that Federal District Court Judge Christina A. Snyder has ruled in favor of a lawsuit brought by the NRDC and the Sierra Club, which claimed the Commission's action violated the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

ARCADIA - A former employee at the U.S. Forest Service's Arcadia office was sentenced to four years in federal prison for embezzling more than $1.4 million from the agency, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
Kathy Stamps, 39, of Rancho Cucamonga was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Christina A. Snyder in Los Angeles.
