I find that Southaven Mayor Greg Davis' hosting of a reception at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Biloxi (Nov. 11 article), at a cost of $7,578.86, at taxpayers' expense, to be obscene.

Gene Kwon, owner of the Salt Lake-based Latitude Restaurant Group, announced Wednesday that he has acquired the local franchise rights for Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and plans to open one of the restaurants in downtown Salt Lake City in spring 2006.
Ruth's Chris, headquartered in New Orleans, features steaks and seafood. The Salt Lake location will include private dining facilities and a private club, according to a prepared statement.
