As more characters are introduced - namely [Mike Norton]'s bored wife Lou Ann (January [Tommy Lee Jones]) and local waitress Rachel (Melissa Leo), who is sleeping with both the sheriff and [Pete] - the flashbacks fill us in on Pete's relationship with [Mel]. Bonding over horses, they end up whoring together - with Rachel and Lou Ann. Then Mel is killed (this is where I got confused because I thought Mel and the dead man were two different Mexicans) and Pete, none too stable anyway, finds out that Mike is the culprit, kidnaps him, digs up Mel's body and crosses to Mexico to give his friend a proper burial. Constantine C. Menges, a national security and intelligence official during the Reagan administration and advocate of global democracy, died Sunday. He was 64. Mr. Menges was a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute since 2000 and a contributing columnist to The Washington Times for many years. His death was caused by complications related to cancer, said his assistant, Chris Brown.
