Several weeks after a divisive public dispute over a surprise donation to the South Coast Botanic Garden, the garden foundation's board has moved to put the issue to rest. This week, board members voted to use a $392,000 bequest from the estate of South Bay hot rod legend Vincent Conze solely for the children's garden and the Japanese garden, as set forth in a trust document sent to the nonprofit foundation in February.
