On Monday, the Portland Public Library's location at East End Community School, 195 North St., will become the temporary home of the library's youth services staff and a large part of the children's collection from the main library. Materials and services for adults will continue to be available at this location. For the next two years, the location will be called the Portland Public Children's Library on Munjoy Hill, instead of its current name, the Munjoy Branch.

Just a few years ago, Oklahoma City's Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library was obviously short on an invaluable resource, Rondia Banks said. The whole downtown community has been changing into something more vibrant," said Banks, librarian for the Metropolitan Library System's children's services. "We're now bringing in whole families. AUBURN - The 2007 Maggie Trafton Authors for Young Readers program, offered by the Children's Services Department of the Auburn Public Library, is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the library's Androscoggin Community Room. This year's guest is Noah Z. Jones, a freelance author/ illustrator/animator whose wacky energy and designs have added to numerous award-winning projects from clients such as Nickelodeon, PBS and Disney.
