Before joining the board, he was president of Environmental and Safety Risk Assessment LLC, a chemical process safety consulting company based in Morristown, N.J. Until August 2000, he was director of Environmental Risk Management for Honeywell International Inc., in Morristown, N.J. While there, he was responsible for the company's compliance with EPA's Risk Management Program regulation at 20 facilities in the United States.
This paper reviews Paul Kleindorfer's contributions to Operations Management (OM), with a special focus on his research on risk management. An annotated bibliography of selected other contributions reviews the breadth of topics that have occupied Kleindorfer's research attention over his now 45+ years of research. These include optimal control theory, scheduling theory, decision sciences, investment planning and peak load pricing, plus a number of important applications in network industries and insurance. In this final rule, OSHA is modifying its Standard (HCS) to conform to the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). OSHA has determined that the modifications will significantly reduce costs and burdens while also improving the quality and consistency of information provided to employers and employees regarding chemical hazards and associated protective measures. WASHINGTON, May 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- OSHA Administrator John Henshaw today signed an Alliance renewal with The Dow Chemical Company extending the agreement for an additional two years. The federal government has warned chemical companies in North Jersey and across the nation about a series of suspicious calls earlier this month at plants in the Midwest. The calls, placed to at least three chemical manufacturers, sought information about safety procedures at the businesses and claimed to be from the Center for Chemical Process Safety, an industry group based in New York.
