Staff Report The Tigers high school and middle school cheerleading teams headed to Albuquerque last week to attend a Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) Stunting and Performance Camp.
Roanoke's Inner City Athletic Association football and cheerleading club faced a choice: As the last holdout, merge with other northwest city clubs in a consolidated city league, or find a way to play somewhere else. An Upper St. Clair teenager and her parents sued officials with the Upper St. Clair Youth Cheerleading Association on Friday over head injuries the teen suffered during a practice. Robert and Jaime Spivak filed the lawsuit on behalf of their daughter Bailey, 14, in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court against five Upper St. Clair women who are officers, directors or coaches for the cheerleading association, according to the lawsuit.
WEST HAVEN -- Give them an "F-L-O-R-I-D-A!" For the first time in West Haven High School's history, its cheerleading squad will visit the Sunshine State in February to compete in the National High School Cheerleading Championships. The 28-member squad set the athletic precedent after it leapt to first place at the Universal Cheerleading Association's New England Supervarsity Championship on Nov. 20.

Centerville to host UCA cheer competition The Centerville High School Cheerleading Association will host the UCA Miami Valley Regional Competition for junior high and high school cheerleaders from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8. The competition is included as a sanctioned qualifier for the National High School Cheerleading Championships held in February and the National All Star Cheerleading Championships held in March. Hosting the UCA event enables the CHSCA to raise program funds and to award scholarships to college bound senior cheerleaders.
