PORTSMOUTH - Charles L. "Butch" Knight, 57, of the 3600 block of Braxton Ave., died July 28, 2007, at home. He was a nuclear welder for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. A U.S. Army veteran, he traveled worldwide with the Tiger Team and was highly honored and recognized in his profession.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Knight; daughter, Lynelle McMahon (Gary) of Suffolk; son, Aaron Knight of Portsmouth; mother, Quilline Knight Dozier; two sisters, Linda Rodgers (James) and Michelle Knight, both of Portsmouth; two brothers, Edward Knight (Shirley) of Chesapeake and Micheal Knight of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Corey, Aaron and Nicole McMahon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

CHESAPEAKE - , 56, of the 800 block of Shoal Creek Trail, passed away Feb. 17, 2009, in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Charles Knight and Sarah Frances Knight McIver. He retired from the Norfolk Police Department after 21 years of service. He was a member of the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn J. Knight; his daughter, Rachel K. Joyner and husband Bill of Camden, N.C.; a son, Christopher L. Knight and wife Heather of Manteo, N.C.; a brother, J. Bradley Knight of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren and one great- grandchild. He was predeceased by his stepfather, H. Howard McIver and a brother, Michael T. Knight.
