• Note to Senior Class

Seniors at Colton High School are beginning to make waves about the Colton Joint Unified school board's decision to offer a certificate of completion to students who don't pass the California High School Exit Exam. It seems their primary issue is that these students will be allowed to participate in the commencement activities without anything to distinguish the true graduates from those who will receive a certificate of completion. I wish some of those seniors were more politically engaged. I was a school board member last year when the board voted to offer a certificate of completion and allow nongraduates to participate in the ceremony. It was a difficult decision, but the school board made the right decision.
