The St. Albans artist shuns modern jewelry-making technology in favor of an old-fashioned technique called wax casting, a method used during biblical times. She carves her jewelry designs in wax, then casts them and forms molds. I have so much more freedom using wax, Whittington said. Its giving. Its not like wood carving.
