We, the Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), are listing the Miami blue butterfly (Cyclargus thomasi bethunebakeri), as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act). We have determined that designation of critical habitat for the Miami blue butterfly is not prudent at this time. We also are listing the cassius blue butterfly (Leptotes cassius theonus), ceraunus blue butterfly (Hemiargus ceraunus antibubastus), and nickerbean blue butterfly (Cyclargus ammon) as threatened due to similarity of appearance to the Miami blue in coastal south and central Florida, and establishing a special rule under section 4(d) of the Act for these three species.
Conference USA (25) Southern Miss 30, Central Florida 29
ORLANDO, Fla. - Running into the wind and unrelenting rain, Brynn Harvey rumbled through a sizable crease for 50 yards to start Saturday night's Central Florida-Marshall game. The game wasn't over for the Thundering Herd at that point, but the tone was set.
In an adolescent conference with few long-term rivalries, Marshall and Central Florida have bred as much familiarity - and perhaps contempt - as any two teams. Tonight's game at Joan C. Edwards Stadium is the ninth between the teams. To illustrate how "storied" this game is, consider this: Of the 10 other Conference USA teams, only East Carolina has a longer history with both teams (12th time vs. MU on Oct. 23, 10th time vs. UCF on Oct. 30).
ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Central Florida Urban League (CFUL,) a community-based agency whose mission is to assist Central Floridians in achieving social and economic equality, has appointed five new board members to its board of directors. Orlando business leaders joining the agency's board include:
DAILY MAIL SPORTSWRITER HUNTINGTON - Marshall Coach Mark Snyder watched intently as Central Florida's defensive front seven chased the University of Miami offense around the field.
Marcus Jordan and Keith Clanton each scored 20 points to help Central Florida rally to a 68-63 win over No. 4 Connecticut on Friday in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Paradise Island, Bahamas. Trailing 50-33 early in the second half, the Knights rallied behind Jordan. UCF (4-1) went on a 29-7 run over the next 13 minutes. Jordan tied the game at 57 with 3:11 left when his free throw bounced around the rim and then went in. He hit the second one to give the Knights their first lead.
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Nobody told Dave Hupp there were no guarantees in fishing. Not that it would have stopped the 60-year former Evansville resident, who retired to Polk County, Fla., 14 years ago. Hupp likes to talk smack. We've known each other since we attended Harwood School when it was a K-8 institution many moons ago. We'd talked fishing dozens of times, but never gone together until this week.
