The head of the Centinela Valley Union High School District has accused officials from a local vocational training center of illegal governing practices and withholding financial information, charges that center officials deny.
The move could set the district up to remove its membership with the Southern California Regional Occupational Center, which would temporarily displace 400 students enrolled in programs there.

LONG BEACH - A public feud dividing the Long Beach teachers' union that erupted again this week has raised questions about past ties between the union's controversial executive director and a Long Beach school board member.
The past ties were discussed in a letter sent this week to hundreds of teachers by union board members who want to see Executive Director Scott McVarish fired. The letter cites allegations that while working at a prior position in the South Bay, McVarish impeded a Centinela Valley Union High School District investigation into potential teacher misconduct in 2003.

Tensions between Centinela Valley Union High School District parents and officials reached a tipping point Tuesday when a group of parents confronted Superintendent Jose Fernandez in the lobby of district offices.
The parents, looking to obtain two year's worth of school board agendas in the hopes of lifting a veil of secrecy they say has plagued the district for years, stopped the superintendent as he was leaving a school board meeting and accused him of promoting administrative mismanagement, closed-door politics and racism.
