After months of wrangling over where to locate offices for elected officials and senior staff, option No. 4 brings the El Paso County seat back full circle. County Commissioners on Thursday agreed to pursue a scaled-back $1 million renovation of Centennial Hall on South Cascade Avenue for about 70 top officials.

An insurance company is suing in Oklahoma City University's name to recover money from troubled developer Aduddell Development Group and contractor L. Wallace Construction, alleging faulty construction and design of the $23 million Centennial Hall student housing complex. The four-story, 359-bed Centennial Hall dormitory on the Oklahoma City University campus was completed in 2007. A lawsuit filed Aug. 16 in Oklahoma County District Court claims a large central courtyard that is part of the structure flooded in August 2008 after heavy rains.

Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8249 Jumpers Hole Road, will combine worship services for the next two Sundays as part of its centennial celebration. At 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, there will be a service to dedicate the church's new Zick Centennial Hall. The original building, now called the Listman Chapel, was built in 1908.

The El Paso County Elections officers will get some long-awaited elbow room when they move their offices this weekend to the El Paso County Citizen's Center, formerly the Intel campus, on Garden of the Gods Road. The Clerk to the Board and Elections will move into 118 workstations on the second floor of the center, where Elections will have 10 counters instead of the five at their current office in Centennial Hall downtown.
