COLUMBIA, S.C., Oct. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Companion Data Services, LLC (CDS), which provides innovative health information technology services to both government and commercial entities, has won a new three-year contract to continue hosting an electronic data warehouse that supports the federal Medicare program's Recovery Audit Contractors.
Maryland-based Quality Software Services Inc. (QSSI), the prime contractor for the project, selected CDS to host the Recovery Audit Contractors Data Warehouse (RACDW) in CDS's state-of-the-art data center in Columbia, S.C. Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) identify Medicare overpayments and underpayments to health care providers. The RACs utilize the data warehouse to coordinate their efforts.

Participants in the over-the-counter credit default swaps (CDS) market have sharply reduced the notional amount of CDS contracts outstanding this year through a series of portfolio compression cycles, also known as tear-ups. The decrease in notional outstanding CDS amounts in 2008 reflects a range of activities, including compression exercises run by TriOptima, Creditex and Markit, says the International Swaps and Derivatives Association. Meanwhile, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) says its central registry for the CDS market, known as the Trade Information Warehouse, has successfully completed the automated credit-event processing and settlement of over-the-counter CDS contracts related to the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers. NEW YORK (HedgeWorld.com) - CDS IndexCo LLC, a consortium of 16 investment banks, has joined with Markit Group Ltd., an independent provider of mark-to-market pricing and valuations, to launch CMBX, a synthetic index of U.S. commercial mortgage-backed securities.
The CDS consortium consists of the following market makers: Bank of America; Barclays Capital; Bear Stearns, BNP Paribas; Citigroup; Credit Suisse First Boston; Deutsche Bank; Goldman Sachs; JP Morgan; Lehman Brothers; Merrill Lynch; Morgan Stanley; RBS Greenwich; UBS; and Wachovia.
