The Crowne Plaza Hotel is battling a $25.7 million foreclosure from a Cayman Islands-based company.
The Sorin Master Fund Ltd. filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 against the 462-room flagship of Louisiana-based Ascension Hotels LLC. The Crowne Plaza continues operating despite being in receivership, said General Manager Marlin Keranen on Wednesday.

Air Jamaica, the official carrier of the Expo, is providing reduced rates to overseas buyers and investors travelling to Jamaica for the trade show and several hotels in the corporate area are also offering special packages to overseas visitors and out of town exhibitors. Cayman Airlines has also agreed to sponsor the promotion of Expo 2004 in the Cayman Islands and expect an increase in travellers over the Expo weekend.
Expo 2004 is a collaboration of the Jamaica Manufacturers' Association and the Jamaica Exporters' Association. GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- Late-season Hurricane Paloma strengthened into a Category 3 storm as it lashed the Cayman Islands with wind and rain Friday, knocking down trees and signs.
