The Crowne Plaza Hotel is battling a $25.7 million foreclosure from a Cayman Islands-based company. The Sorin Master Fund Ltd. filed a lawsuit Jan. 21 against the 462-room flagship of Louisiana-based Ascension Hotels LLC. GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- Late-season Hurricane Paloma strengthened into a Category 3 storm as it lashed the Cayman Islands with wind and rain Friday, knocking down trees and signs.
