LEWISTON - "Understanding High Blood Pressure and How to Manage It" will be the topic of a Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute presentation set for Monday and Thursday, Feb. 19 and 22. Cardiologist Dr. Patrick J. Lawrence, Central Maine Heart Associates, will discuss the causes of high blood pressure, its effects on the human body and how it can be effectively managed.

Ever since I was relatively young, my doctor has prescribed blood pressure medicine for me. He said I am "wound tighter than a guitar string.
