I would like to take a moment to remind you of the travesty that occurred in this country from 1932 to 1939. This was the period of the Great Depression, which saw the United States' economy nearly devastated, and concluded with the country's entry into a massive world war. Many of us forget (or never learned the causes) of this depression, so I feel it incumbent upon me to do so now.
The 30 to 36 months preceding the depression saw the United States face a tumbling of the stock market in which millions of people lost savings. The massive loss of wealth in this country put us into a deep recession.
