Dear Readers: Which is better to feed your cat: wet cat food or dry? We looked to our friends at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for the answer.
The ASPCA says that either form of food is fine for a cat. Just make sure that you feed your animal a good-quality food, and it should be age-appropriate for your cat. Some factors to consider: Wet food has more protein than dry food and is lower in carbohydrates. Cats that are overweight or have diabetes may benefit from wet cat food. An advantage of dry cat food is that it can sit out for longer periods of time without spoiling, so no worries about the cat if you are gone all day at work. Your cat also will let you know which one it prefers! -- Heloise

ST. LOUIS, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Cat food can art? Yes, if it's a means of reaching pet owners with an important message about recycling and, if it's about raising money for a worthwhile organization dedicated to protecting the environment. For C.A.L., Auburn, looking for a product similar to Tender Vittles cat food (Sun Spots inquiry, April 11), Wendy Tremblay at Pet Quarters in Auburn has discovered the following method which works well for her cats. Find a hard cat food that your cat will enjoy. Separate one portion of the cat food and place on top of a piece of bread in a resealable baggy. Seal the bag, let it sit for about two days and the food should be of a similar consistency to Tender Vittles. Tremblay has tried this in small portions, as she feeds them to her cat as treats. You may need to experiment with the portion size. Good Luck!
