Carole Ann Torrence Moore of Colonial Heights, Va., died unexpectedly, Aug. 28, 2007. Carole Ann, born March 14, 1938, was a lifelong resident of Colonial Heights.She graduated from Petersburg High School, where she was a member of the marching and concert bands. She continued her love affair with music and the flute graduating from College Conservatory of Music and Teachers College at the University of Cincinnati in 1959. She received a BS in flute/choral and instrumental education. She studied with Robert Cavalli, flutist, while at the university. VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary "Gail" Barrett, 67, passed away July 5, 2007, surrounded by her family. Gail was the owner of Vanbar Ceramics Inc. for 23 years, it was her love and passion. She was a member of VFW Post No. 392 and Moose Lodge No. 39. Survivors include her daughter, Lorrie Johnson; two sons, Brian Sawyer, Alan Sawyer and his wife Connie; four grandchildren, Frank Adair, Timithy Hoggard II, Amanda and Joshua Sawyer; a sister, Carole Moore and her husband Lewis; a brother, Francis "Ricky" Wawrzyniak Jr.; and a special friend, Chris Cossirer.

NORFOLK - , 47, died March 21, 2009, in her Norfolk home. Laura was born Sept. 11, 1961, to Lynnellen Burke of Chesapeake and Earnest J. Boss of Punta Gorda Fla. She leaves behind brother, Eric Moore; sister-in-law, Sue Moore; aunt, Carole Victorio; nephew, Aaron Plant; cousin, Heidi Young; second cousins, Steven and Heather Young; her beloved dog, Suzie; and birds, Polly and Sweety.
VIRGINIA BEACH - , 77, of Virginia Beach and formerly of Revere, Mass., died Sept. 29, 2010. Born in Somerville, Mass., he lived many years in Revere and was the son of the late Roger W. and Dorothy (Dwyer) Moore. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Prince); devoted father of James of Virginia Beach, Robert of Revere and Karen McEleney of Medford; dear brother of Mary Palmariello of New Hampshire, Carole Doherty of Tewksbury and the late Roger W. Jr., Raymond, Dorothy Moore, Claire Winter and Paul Moore. He was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
YELLOW SPRINGS -- Yellow Springs Community Vacation Bible School has finished its trek to the Serengeti and has returned home with tales to tell. Rev. Ken Moore, Lois Bravard, Kim Rea, Joan Hart, Carole Grady, Clare Loving, Kathy Shopmeyer and Marlene Johnson planned the "Serengeti Trek" as a safari through the Bible in the "rugged African terrain" of Yellow Springs High School.
