The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces its intention to accept and consider a single source application for award of a cooperative agreement to the Brookings Institution's Engelberg Center for Health Care Reform (ECHCR) in support of efforts to inform major initiatives for process improvement and regulatory science related to FDA commitments under the 2012 reauthorization of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA V).
Nearly $5 Million in New Grants Supporting Teachers, Principals and At-Risk Children CHICAGO, June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Robert R. McCormick Foundation will be providing nearly $5 million in grants over two years to support a system of quality early care and education initiatives, including public policy and advocacy focusing on adequate funding and quality standards, and support for quality infrastructure, including principal preparation and early math.
The poll also explored public opinion on several potential health care reform initiatives to address insurance coverage and increased access to care: * Almost 78 percent support allowing employees to continue coverage after they leave their jobs. * Nearly 87 percent support the state providing tax credits to small businesses that employ low-income workers and provide health insurance. * Over 87 percent of respondents support requiring all health insurers of offer a basic health policy. * Respondents were less certain about allowing employees to purchase insurance for dependents up to age 30, with only 56 percent in favor of that proposal.
