Tulsa-based Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has bought the Thrifty Car Rental operations in three Florida cities - Jacksonville, Melbourne and Cape Canaveral.
The acquisition, which adds about 500 vehicles to the company's corporate fleet, includes an in-terminal location at Jacksonville International Airport, as well as an off-airport location in Jacksonville, an off-airport location in Melbourne and a location in Cape Canaveral, said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president of corporate operations.

The car rental outlets were converted from company stores to franchise operations. The sales included in-airport operations in Knoxville and Omaha.
