CALGARY, Alberta, December 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Crescent Point Energy Corp. ("Crescent Point" or the "Company") (TSX: CPG) is pleased to announce a $1.1 billion capital development budget for 2012. Execution of the budget is expected to increase average daily production by approximately 10 percent to 80,000 boe/ d, with a 2012 exit rate of greater than 85,000 boe/d. In addition, the Company is upwardly revising its 2011 exit rate to more than 80,000 boe/d from 77,500 boe/d and its capital development budget by $150 million to $1.2 billion. The majority of the increase in capital is expected to be spent on drilling and completions in the Viewfield Bakken play, which will result in a strong exit to 2011 and an early start to the Company's 2012 capital program. The states capital budget for 2011-13 delivers $500,000 for design and permitting of Vancouvers Waterfront Park project and millions of dollars for public works and land conservation projects in Clark County and the Columbia River Gorge. Great news! Vancouver City Manager Eric Holmes said in an email announcing the waterfront planning allocation. He credited state Sen. Craig Pridemore and Reps. Jim Moeller, Tim Probst, Paul Harris and Sharon Wylie for scoring the funding in a capital budget that is significantly smaller than in years past.
Independent exploration and production company Ram Energy Resources Inc. announced a preliminary $35 million nonacquisition capital budget on Thursday. Consistent with Ram's historical strategy, nonacquisition capital expenditures are targeted to be within estimated annual cash flow, said Larry Lee, Ram chief executive officer.

New athletic fields in South Buffalo and new light posts along Richmond Avenue are among the projects that could benefit as part of changes that city lawmakers want to make to Mayor Byron W. Brown's capital budget. Common Council members stopped short of making the changes at Tuesday's meeting but indicated they want to work with Brown on finding areas to cut so other projects can be funded.
The school board approved a $159.3 million capital budget Wednesday night but was unable to speed up renovations at two county schools, despite parents' concerns. Parents from Arnold and Rolling Knolls elementary schools came to the board's public hearing hoping to get feasibility studies at their buildings moved up. The board has set aside funds for the studies and projects at Arnold in 2015 and 2016 and at Rolling Knolls in 2014 and 2015. Both buildings are considered overcrowded and in need of repair.
