LOCAL ARTS educator, [Anne-marie Woods] is set to travel to Trinidad on a three- month 'Artist in Residence' placement funded by Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council with the University of the West Indies Creative and Festival Arts Department. The placement runs from February 1 to March 15, and from April 15 to May 31.
In recent years though she has felt a hunger to 'learn more about her own cultural roots as it relates to theatre performance and the oral tradition*. Peter Behrens has done all right for a first-time novelist.
Behrens' first novel, "The Law of Dreams," recently won him the 2006 Governor General's Award for Literature in Fiction. Awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, it is Canada's oldest and most prestigious award for English- and French-language Canadian literature. Past recipients include Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatjje, Alice Munro, and Rohinton Mistry.

A banquet camera is a type of large-format camera used in the early 20th century for photographing large groups of people in formal occasions. The format is wider than it is high, creating a panoramic view. The public is invited to this free workshop.
