SAN BERNARDINO - The union representing classified employees in the San Bernardino City Unified School District and the district have reached an agreement regarding a 5 percent pay cut.
The pay cut will equal nine unpaid furlough days, according to Ken Holt, chapter president of California School Employees Association, CSEA, 183.

A fissure between the San Bernardino city school district and its Personnel Commission appears to be widening with renewed public disagreements over the commission's role in the district's hiring process.

Los Angeles Unified agreed Monday to rehire hundreds of office clerks and library aides under a tentative agreement reached with the union representing support staff, district officials announced.
Under the tentative agreement with the California School Employees Association, the district would allocate $8 million to fund the rehiring of support staff, with the district selecting which positions would be restored.
