Gypsum is a natural soil aerator and is a great source of calcium and sulfate when dissolved. USA Gypsum recycles scrap gypsum drywall and manufactures lawn, agricultural, and industrial gypsum products in addition to animal bedding.

John Amos Plant Has a New Look By Marty Chapman, President
The skyline over the John Amos Plant is changing on almost a daily basis. Most visible are the two new chimneys under construction as part of a major project to add flue gas desulfurization (FGD) units (scrubbers) to all three of the plants generating units. Scrubbers use a chemical process to reduce up to 98 percent of the sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted from the plant as a result of the coal-burning process. Amos Plants new FGD systems will begin operating in the 2008 time frame. The scrubbers join a list of other plant equipment that reduces emissions. Most recently the plant added selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems that reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 95 percent. NOx has been related to the formation of ...
