The Port of Vancouver and Cadet Manufacturing reached a $24 million settlement Wednesday that ends years of legal wrangling, gives the port ownership of Cadet's site and makes the public agency responsible for cleaning contaminated land at the Cadet location.
Cadet, with more then 100 employees, will continue to make electric wall heaters at the plant on Fourth Plain Boulevard but will become a port tenant by leasing the building.
