The Air Force Academy has cleared another hurdle in a plan to create a nonprofit to oversee its athletics programs, a change that supporters say could bolster fundraising and result in higher coaching salaries. The plan - under discussion for four years - was approved Monday by Air Force Secretary Michael B. Donley, according to the academy's Board of Visitors, which met on campus Saturday. Donley signed off on the proposed nonprofit's articles of incorporation and bylaws.
