Alan Webb has struggled in the lead-up to the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Ore., and potentially the Beijing Olympics in August.
Webb had stomach problems in his first race of the season on March 15, an 8K race in New York's Central Park, and he stopped for unknown reasons after 2 1/2 miles of the Carlsbad (Calif.) 5,000 on April 6.

When John Bapst girls basketball coach Mike Webb handicapped what his Crusaders were capable of in November, he figured this would be a building year around freshman Abby Pyne, with the team having a shot at a tournament berth.
But Webb's expectations have been surpassed so far, as Bapst has won six of its first seven games with the first half of the season nearing its conclusion. The biggest of those triumphs was a 57-53 home win over archrival Presque Isle on Saturday.

DANVILLE, Calif. Karrie Webb showed her LPGA Tour peers a sure way to beat Annika Sorenstam get six shots ahead and then hang on for dear life.
Sorenstam gave Webb a scare in the final round of the Longs Drugs Challenge on Sunday with birdies on Nos. 15 and 17, cutting Webb's lead to a stroke at Blackhawk Country Club.

COLONIAL HEIGHTS -- The Dinwiddie s, who even though they weren't on their "A" game, according to coach Carl Thomas, scored early and often and defeated the Prince George 7-1 in the final game of the first round on Monday in the 54th annual Boys Invitational Baseball Tournament at Shepherd Stadium.
Dinwiddie s, wasted little time producing runs, as it got on the board in the first inning. Leadoff hitter Brandon Webb, the starting pitcher, reached on a walk. He moved over to third on a single to right-center field by Zac Maitland. Then, Webb scored the first run of the game on a fielder's choice when Dinwiddie s first baseman Ethan Lyle grounded to third and Prince George third baseman Tomas Sanchez made the nice play to get the runner at first,...

Marquis Webb of Paterson had 17 points and Anthony Farmer 16 for Rutgers, but it wasn't enough as the Scarlet Knights suffered their fourth straight loss, 78-63, Saturday night against Providence in Providence, R.I.
Herbert Hill had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Providence his third straight double-double. Hill also had five blocks against the Scarlet Knights (8-11, 1-5 Big East).

Steelers receiver Mike Wallace is among the league leaders in receptions (43), yards (800), touchdown catches (five) and yards per catch (18.6), but according to Baltimore cornerback Lardarius Webb, Wallace isn't even the best receiver the Steelers have on their roster.
