DETROIT - Ford Motor Co. has no plans to sell its Jaguar luxury car brand at the moment, but that could change in the future, a top company executive said Wednesday. Lewis Booth, chairman of Ford of Europe and vice president of the company's Premier Automotive Group, told industry analysts in a webcast from Paris that Jaguar's status could change as the company goes through a strategic review of all its assets.

Lincoln was the top luxury brand in the U.S. 20 years ago, but sales have plummeted in recent years as Ford made little investment in new cars and trucks. Until now, Ford couldn't focus on Lincoln because it had Mercury and four other luxury brands. But it sold off Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Volvo and is ending Mercury this year, so the time is ripe for an overhaul.
