Four Oklahoma community banks have received a total of $51.1 million in federal funds to support small business lending and help those companies expand operations and create new jobs, officials said Wednesday.
The money is the final wave in the Small Business Lending Fund program through the U.S. Treasury Department, bringing the total number of Oklahoma banks to seven. The latest banks are F&M Bancorporation in Tulsa, Central Service Corp. in Enid, AmeriBank Holding Co. in Collinsville and Citizen Potawatomi Community Development Corp. in Shawnee.

Sixteen states filed a brief opposing the National Labor Relations Board's (NLRB) effort to block the Boeing Co. from building a new manufacturing facility in South Carolina. The NLRB initiated proceedings against Boeing to prevent the company from building the new facility in South Carolina - a right-to-work state - on the ground that it would adversely impact unionized Boeing employees in Washington state. Charleston native John Chambers Jr., CEO of America's gigantic cyber hardware conglomerate Cisco, candidly says Cisco keeps eight subsidiaries and $40 billion profits in low-tax foreign nations to avoid U.S. corporate taxes.
