The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) proposes to increase small business size standards for 28 industries in North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Sector 62, Health Care and Social Assistance. As part of its ongoing comprehensive review of all size standards, SBA has evaluated all size standards in NAICS Sector 62 to determine whether the existing size standards should be retained or revised. This proposed rule is one of a series of proposed rules that will review size standards of industries grouped by NAICS Sector. The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA), Tri-Ed and The Summit Group are offering business training courses. These courses, according to the group, are focused on providing participants realistic, yet powerful solutions to real life situations. The courses are geared towards owners, sales managers, customer service representatives and installers. The first session will be in September at Tri-Ed's Boston location.
The Rural Business-Cooperative Service (RBS), an Agency within the USDA Rural Development mission area, announces the availability of two individual grants: one single $500,000 grant from the rural transportation funds appropriated for the Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) program and another single $250,000 grant for Federally Recognized Native American Tribes (FRNAT) from funds appropriated for the RBEG program. RBS will administer these awards under the Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) program and 7 U.S.C. 1932(c)(2) for fiscal year (FY) 2012. RUMFORD -- Linda Walbridge believes an all-out effort that includes both business assistance and promotion of the arts may help boost the economy of Rumford. Walbridge, the economic developer for the Western Maine Economic Development Council that operates under Community Concepts, helped launch a series of business studies and grant applications that will assist about 30 Rumford/Mexico businesses during the next two years. The effort, which was launched last week, is known as Fast Forward Maine.
