PHS Dinner Theater: Poca High School's show choir, Visual Volume, will conclude its season with a Cabaret Dinner Theater at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at Poca High. Come and enjoy an evening of entertainment with new dances and songs in addition to the award- winning competition show. Adult dinner tickets are $15 and children 10 and under will be admitted for $10. Seating is limited and reservations are required for the sit-down dinner. Basic Cooking 101: Putnam Parks and Recreation will sponsor a basic cooking class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, June 9 through July 14, in The Commons at Valley (Wave Pool) Park. Instructor Lisa Hechesry will be teaching sound culinary knowledge, including equipment and ingredient selection, basic skills and recipes. Seniors' Market Vouchers: Putnam County senior citizens farmers' market vouchers will be available at local senior citizen centers starting Monday, July 11. Vouchers will be distributed to senior citizens from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays until they are all gone. To be eligible, seniors must be at least 60 years of age, reside in Putnam County and fall under income guidelines set by the Department of Agriculture. There is a limit of one voucher book per household. The vouchers will be available at the following senior centers: Buffalo Senior Center, 48 Wrights Lane (304-937-3352); Hometown Senior Center, 100 First Ave. North (304-586-2745) and Hurricane Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Ave. (304-562-9451).
