If sounds had colors, rainbows would arc over symphony stages. Western Carolina musician Bruce Frazier would be right at home. He illustrates the tones and moods of instruments in his first one-man art show at the Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nags Head through Wednesday, July 20. Working with acrylics on canvas, Frazier creates vibrant paintings that he calls snapshots of sonic moments in time, including undulating black and white piano keys, a bulging blue clarinet and melodious pastel hands poised over a cellos strings.

Authorities have charged the varsity baseball coach and the bookkeeper at Giles High School with defrauding a Montgomery County car parts company.
Coach and history instructor Bruce H. Frazier, 55, and bookkeeper Kimberly C. Tilley, 36, both of Pearisburg, were named in felony indictments earlier this week along with Yvonne Marshall Atkins, 45, of Christiansburg, who also goes by Yvonne Marshall Harris.

VIRGINIA BEACH - Lollie Dobyns Prince passed away at her home in Westminster Canterbury, Virginia Beach, Sept. 21, 2006, at the age of 92. She was born Dec. 10, 1913, in Galax, Va., the daughter of Ruth Kinzer and Bruce Frazier Dobyns. She was formerly of West Point, Va., the widow of Alfred C. Prince Jr.
She was a dedicated elementary schoolteacher, teaching in King and Queen, King William, and New Kent Counties. Lollie attended All Saints' Episcopal Church and, while living in West Point, was a member of the Woman's Club, The Monday Club and also a member of Washington Family Descendants and The Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America.
