A 60-year-old man accused of using the website Craigslist to rent out a Cordova house that didn't belong to him landed in Shelby County Jail on Monday, according to a court affidavit.
Shelby County Sheriff's Office detectives charged Marc Gabriel Greene of Brighton with two counts of theft of property over $1,000 and two counts of computer fraud over $1,000. Greene was being held on $20,000 bond.

A Beaver County man has been sentenced to two years probation for using a stun gun on a 9-year-old girl.
Jeffrey Young, 38, of Brighton Township, was sentenced Thursday in Beaver County Court after pleading guilty to child endangerment. Authorities say Young used the gun on his friend's daughter in October to get her to behave.

A man testified in federal court Wednesday that a convicted Beaver County drug dealer paid him to kill a New Brighton man as a warning to the man's son, who was an informant in a drug case.
Claron "Lee" Hanner, 30, formerly of St. Clair Village, testified in U.S. District Court that he gunned down Frank Helisek Jr. in the doorway of his home on Jan. 19, 2004, "because I was paid to shoot and kill him by Jelani Solomon." Hanner said Solomon had promised him $20,000 in cash and cocaine.

Clifton emergency personnel descended on the house last summer after a tip from neighbors and discovered the dogs locked in cages and deprived of food in poorly ventilated, stench-filled conditions.
