AKRON, Ohio - Bridgestone has become the fourth title sponsor this year to renew its contract with the PGA Tour.
The tire and golf equipment company agreed to back the World Golf Championship event at Firestone Country Club through 2014. Commissioner Tim Finchem and Bridgestone officials announced the agreement Sunday before the start of the tournament's final round.

The tournament's most familiear names - Phil Mickelson, Tom Watson and colorful John Daly - missed the cut. The announcement that Tiger Woods would return to competition in next week's World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational took center stage within the golf world. There were relative no-names at the top of the Classic leader board. Heck, there were even predictions of a thunderstorm.

AKRON, Ohio - U.S. Open champion Rory McIlroy loves playing in America so much that wants to join the PGA Tour again.
McIlroy - who is in Akron this week to compete in the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational -spoke to PGA Tour officials Wednesday morning and said he was leaning toward taking up his tour card next season, meaning he would play at least 15 events on the PGA Tour in 2012.

Bria attends Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy in Hilton Head, S.C., and is ranked among the top 10 in her age group nationally. She was recently presented with an award at the Bridgestone Golf Awards Banquet at the Grand Cypress Hyatt in Orlando, Fla., to showcase and honor the top junior golfers of the IJGT season.
