RANGELEY -- Regional School Unit 78, which serves the Rangeley Lakes area, will hold a districtwide budget meeting and vote Tuesday on a proposed $3.35 million budget for 2011-12, Superintendent Brian Foster said Monday.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. May 24 in gymnasium at Rangeley Lakes Regional School.

The search is over in Columbia. University of Missouri Provost Brian Foster announced April 9 that Gary Myers will take the reins from L. Lawrence Dessem as dean of the law school, beginning Aug. 15.
Gary Myers comes to MU with extensive experience in legal education and administration," Foster said in a statement. "His experience in intellectual property law is extremely appropriate at this time in connection with MU's strong emphasis on entrepreneurship. He will provide strong leadership for the School of Law following Larry Dessem's 10-year term as dean. We are delighted to welcome him and his wife, Bridget, to MU.

University of Missouri Provost Brian Foster has appointed Jim Spain to serve as vice provost for e-learning on an interim basis while a task force figures out how MU can better provide online courses.

Xenia native and current Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight Matt Brown knows his future in the organization likely will be determined at Saturday's UFC 122 event.
Brown (11-9) takes on dangerous ground fighter Brian Foster (14- 5) at the show, which takes place Nov. 20 at the Palace of Auburn Hills in suburban Detroit. The night's main card airs on pay-per- view, but Brown vs. Foster is one of two preliminary-card fights airing on Spike TV (9 p.m.).

Provost Brian Foster has decided it is to the University of Missouri's advantage if he contributes some allocated funds back to the general operating budget.
Foster is returning $4 million from the Mizzou Advantage initiative to the campus. It is money he said has been saved over time because the program hasn't had to use its entire annual budget.

NORMAL - Normal Community High School senior Brian Foster will have an easier time paying for tuition at Illinois State University this fall, thanks to a scholarship awarded by the Central Illinois Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
Foster was one of eight scholarship recipients recognized at the organization's eighth annual tea event Saturday afternoon at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Normal.
