  • For an extra-special treat, try bread pudding, a homey yet spectacular dessert. Besides being scrumptious, it's made ahead of time, so it's great for entertaining. A bread pudding is basically stale bread in a custard base. Some old-fashioned recipes specify removing the crusts, while others leave them on.
