BRANDENBURG, Ky. - Linda Sue Morrill MacLennan, 57, passed away March 29, 2009.
She is survived by her husband, Bill H. MacLennan Jr.; sons, Mark MacLennan and Joe MacLennan; sister, Barbara Catherine Wetmore; nieces, Ada Jones and Kathy Foreman; and nephews, Kelly Wetmore and Allen Wetmore.

BRANDENBURG, Ky. (AP) -- A Kentucky-based Ku Klux Klan chapter has been ordered to pay $2.5 million in damages in a judgment that civil rights attorneys hope will bankrupt the local group.
The Southern Poverty Law Center sued the nation's second-largest Klan outfit on behalf of a Latino teen severely beaten in 2006 by two Klan members. The Klansmen were convicted and served two years in prison.

Charles E. Cawthon, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Gordon Hospice House. He was born on April 5, 1931, in Eldorado, Ill., and was the son of the late D.W. and Julia Belt Cawthon.
He served four years in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and attended Lockyear's Business School. He was employed by the Wabash, Norfolk & Western and Norfolk Southern Railroads and retired after 30 years of service. After moving to North Carolina, he was employed at Fox Den Country Club for the last 15 years and was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Statesville.
