RICHMOND -- Petersburg business owner Alzena Mayfield has been indicted on nine felony charges in Richmond, including seven embezzlement charges and two charges of attempting to obtain money by fraud.
Mayfield, owner of Alzena's on Sycamore Street in downtown Petersburg, was indicted on state charges by a multi-jurisdiction grand jury impaneled on Sept. 12. Mayfield was arrested and brought before the court on Sept. 26. Richmond Circuit Court Judge Bradley B. Cavedo set Mayfield's bond at $18,000, which Mayfield paid.
