Are you tired of the lies that are coming out of Washington? Have you heard one congressman or senator say, "It is partly my fault that the country is in the situation it is in"? No. Politicians blame everyone except themselves.
I would like to hear just one say, "Yes, I voted to borrow money from another country and to keep spending more money than we take in so I could get re-elected." This country should be the bank, not the borrower. Remember the old saying, "The borrower is slave to the lender"?

DANGEROUS DEBRIS
Natural disasters, such as the tornado that hit Joplin, Mo., on May 22, can devastate a community. But when man-made disasters follow in the natural disaster's wake, they compound the tragedy.

Would you rather have a $40,000 mutual fund or a brand new Cadillac Escalade? Would you rather Junior have all the latest electronics and name brands or a fully funded college fund? Would you rather have a $500 purse or $500 inside your $30 purse? I know that you're a rational person, after all you read my column. I think that as you look at these comparisons side by side, you'll choose the cash and the investments. So the question becomes why have you chosen other than what a sound mind would have you to do? You probably never truly thought of it this way since you purchase the items on an impulse. Patience is a financial virtue! You may have been too lazy to care? There's a high cost for convenience. The number one reason why most of us buy things we don't need with money we don't hav...

As good as such self-reassurance may be there is another form of slavery raging now like wildfire in our homes. It is debt slavery, which reenacts transatlantic slavery in a very subtle and seemingly non-violent, non-degrading way that produces even more profit for 9 percent of our population that earn $100,000 or more annually.
Unlike transatlantic slavery, which was oiled by industrialization, debt slavery is driven by mainstream credit-based economic philosophy and the reprehensible culture of binge spending in which fathers are as fettered as their sons and mothers as manacled as their daughters. They simply buy what they cannot afford and then mortgage their lives to pay for it.
Unlike transatlantic slavery, debt slavery is dressed in purple robes, masked with the mantra of pseud...
