Trader Joe's fans in Maine finally got their wish Friday when the popular grocery chain opened a new store on Marginal Way.
Customers started lining up well before 7 a.m. to get into the store, which opened at 8 with a lei cutting, clapping and cheering. By mid-morning, customers were parking blocks away and causing major traffic backups on Marginal Way.

I stood in the Salvation Army at 22nd and Market, across from the contemporary bounty of Trader Joe's, and examined the cover of The Boys in the Mailroom with the kind of nostalgia I reserve specifically for the '80s: Flashdance (I can't believe I believed Jennifer Beals as a welder), "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell, skirts made out of sweatpants and safety pins in my clothing.

In a panel discussion, several executives discuss the speculations in energy markets. Dr Andrew Stevens, managing director, DC Energy LLC, said this market is complicated enough without getting into the details. In addition, there is no one place one can go to understand all of the workings of these things. He will try to give a quick overview of what the markets look like, but each market is slightly different. Dr David B. Patton, president, Potomac Economics, added, this panel has really run the gamut, so in order to try to put these things in context. You know, what they deal with at Potomac Economics is the RTO markets and those are, as you heard Stevens explain, those largely constitute the spot markets. So the RTO markets set very short-term prices, day-ahead and real-time prices ...

The book details how genealogy during the 1700s and 1800s was very convoluted, as white slave masters had sex with their Black female slaves on a regular basis. Children were invariably born and remained slaves, owned by the father. The Hemings family tree began when Captain Hemings bore a child with an African woman named Elizabeth in 1735. Elizabeth Hemings, being a slave, was partnered with John Wayles, a trader from England who settled in the United States. Together, they had a child named Sarah "Sally" Hemings. Now, John Wayles also had three daughters with his wife, Ellen Ashbumer Wayles, one of whom was named Martha. Martha went on to marry [Thomas Jefferson], When her rather John Wayles died, Martha inherited all of his property, including his slaves, among whom was her halfsist...

They're both Catholic, middle-aged, Harvard-educated white men - but the similarities end there between the two candidates running for Arlen Specter's U.S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania.
Former Rep. Patrick J. Toomey is a conservative Republican and one-time Wall Street derivatives trader who chased Mr. Specter from the GOP. On the stump, he's politically polished and has a knack for sticking to the script.

NEW YORK/BOSTON (Reuters) - The crown may be slipping fast from billionaire traderhead.
The hedge fund manager became an overnight sensation in 2007 by betting big and early on the collapse of the U.S. housing market, and then doing much of the same on a surge in gold prices. But he is now emerging as one of this year's big losers in the $2 trillion hedge fund industry.
