NEW HAVEN -- A city police officer is seeking intervention by the Board of Aldermen in his attempt to purchase a city-owned lot in Wooster Square. Ten-year veteran Officer Charles Gargano is proposing to build a two-family house at 9-11 Brown St. and occupy one of the units, and has offered the city $55,000 for the parcel. Business owner Lawrence Moon, owner of C. Cowles & Co., manufactures automotive parts, boiler controls and lighting fixtures, made a competing proposal to use the site as a parking lot for his employees. His offer was $50,000.
EPA is proposing to partially approve and partially disapprove the revision to the State Implementation Plan (SIP) addressing regional haze submitted by the State of New York on March 15, 2010, and supplemented on August 2, 2010.
