  • Singer Bobby Vinton collapsed during a performance Sunday night in central Pennsylvania, but his condition apparently improved backstage and he refused hospitalization, officials said. Vinton, 68, had been performing at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster for about an hour when he sat down beside the piano player and dropped his head toward the keys.

He worked for Red Line for 23 years and retired from Roadway Express after 10 years of service. Bobby served his country in the United States Navy for five years. He was a previous member of the Second Wesleyan Methodist Church and later attended First Church of the Nazarene for a period of 18 years. For many years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was the oldest member of the Camp Mountain Hunt Club.
