Singer Bobby Vinton collapsed during a performance Sunday night in central Pennsylvania, but his condition apparently improved backstage and he refused hospitalization, officials said. Vinton, 68, had been performing at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster for about an hour when he sat down beside the piano player and dropped his head toward the keys.

LOCKPORT -- He provides music lessons for hundreds of students, employing a dozen gifted instructors. Next year guitarist Ralph Fava, from the 1971 Niagara Falls High School class and graduate of Berklee College of Music, celebrates his 25th anniversary of opening the Lockport Music Center on Main Street. Fava has performed over the years with Bobby Vinton, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Jim Nabors, Connie Francis, Shari Lewis, Don Rickles, the Drifters, Al Martino, Jerry Vale and Bobby Militello. His performances also include club dates, local theater and as well as Artpark. He serves as vice president of Local 97, Lockport Federation of Musicians, and is an active member of Local 106-209, Greater Niagara Musicians Association.
John Robert (Bobby) Gray, 78, of Vinton, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, after a short illness. He worked for Red Line for 23 years and retired from Roadway Express after 10 years of service. Bobby served his country in the United States Navy for five years. He was a previous member of the Second Wesleyan Methodist Church and later attended First Church of the Nazarene for a period of 18 years. For many years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and was the oldest member of the Camp Mountain Hunt Club.
He sounds like the eternal teenage sensation, the blush of youth still present his voice. After more than 50 years in the music business, listening to Bobby Vinton has a similar youthful effect on his fans. Recently in Las Vegas, a woman who had taken her mother to a Vinton concert approached him.
