An Annapolis state senator is targeting one of the remaining "blue laws" in Anne Arundel County by proposing a bill to allow motorcycle dealers to sell motorcycles on Sundays.
Sen. John Astle, D-Annapolis and a biker himself, said in a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week that the county's motorcycle dealers have come together on the proposal.

The Bergen County Freeholders approved three symbolic, non- binding resolutions Wednesday that oppose policies proposed by Governor Christie -- including a rollback of the county's blue laws - - as part of the next state budget.
The freeholders voted along party lines on two of those issues, with its two Republican members abstaining on resolutions criticizing the governor's plan to cut state aid to school districts and his decision not to impose an additional tax on residents earning more than $400,000 annually.

AUGUSTA - A limited Sunday hunting bill was approved by the state House of Representatives on Thursday, a first step toward banishing one of the state's last remaining "blue laws.

Back in August, when Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico railroaded another premium increase past our state's insurance regulators, company lawyers and executives were greatly aided by laws they had slid through our state Legislature limiting the scrutiny the state could apply to health insurers.

We have determined that designation of critical habitat for the Miami blue butterfly is not prudent at this time. We also are listing the cassius blue butterfly (Leptotes cassius theonus), ceraunus blue butterfly (Hemiargus ceraunus antibubastus), and nickerbean blue butterfly (Cyclargus ammon) as threatened due to similarity of appearance to the Miami blue in coastal south and central Florida, and establishing a special rule under section 4(d) of the Act for these three species.
